Messaging Terms

Last updated: August 26, 2026

These terms cover the text messages sent through Tan.app by the salon you signed up with. Tan.app is operated by DesignCode Inc., which sends these messages on the salon’s behalf. By opting in you agree to what follows.

1. What the program is

When you give a salon your mobile number and tick the consent box on its sign-up page — or give it to staff at the counter — you are opting in to text messages from that salon. Messages cover the offer you signed up for (for example, a free tan), what to expect on your first visit, reminders while the offer is still valid, and occasional offers from that salon afterwards.

Messages come from the salon you signed up with. You are not opted in to any other salon, and signing up with one salon never subscribes you to another.

2. How often

Message frequency varies. A typical free-tan sign-up receives up to 5 messages over the 14 days the offer runs. Salons may send occasional offers after that. The exact number depends on the salon and on what you signed up for.

3. Cost

Message and data rates may apply. Tan.app and the salon do not charge you for these messages, but your mobile carrier may charge you for messages sent and received under your own plan. Check with your carrier if you are unsure.

4. How to stop

Reply STOP to any message to stop receiving texts. We will send one final message confirming you have been opted out, and then nothing further. You can also ask staff at the salon to remove you.

Text and email are handled separately. Replying STOP stops the texts; the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any email stops the emails. Stopping one does not stop the other.

If you change your mind, reply STARTto begin receiving messages again, or sign up again on the salon’s page.

5. How to get help

Reply HELP to any message for help and contact details. You can also email support@tan.app at any time.

6. Who can opt in

You must be at least 18 years old, and the mobile number you give must be your own or one you are authorised to enrol. Do not sign somebody else up.

7. Delivery and carriers

Messages are delivered by mobile carriers, and delivery is not guaranteed. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Supported carriers include AT&T, Verizon Wireless, T-Mobile, Sprint, and most regional carriers; carrier support can change without notice.

8. Privacy

We do not sell, rent, or share your mobile number or your consent to receive text messages with third parties for their marketing. Our Privacy Policy explains this in full, along with what we collect and how long we keep it.

9. Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the current version. Material changes affecting the message program will be notified where required.
